| Golden Spike Days - In 1919 |
In 1918 V.L. ”Mike” Armstrong left his job at Dresher Bros Cleaners in Omaha to start his own family business, Leavenworth Cleaners and Dyers. The garage behind the family home at 3870 Leavenworth was converted into the cleaning plant and a call station was opened at 25th and Leavenworth.

the family home, putting both units on the same property.
Soon to follow were call stations at 15th and Harney and in Fremont, Nebraska. Overland Trailways Bus Line was used to transport cleaning back and forth to Fremont. In 1949, George Armstrong, a camera man for Universal Pictures and his wife June, returned to Omaha from California.
In 1958 the present cleaning plant was built at the Leavenworth location, with a Laundry soon to follow in 1962. Grandson, Curt Armstrong, came into the family business in 1969 and with Sue Armstrong, a Certified Dry Cleaning instructor continued the westward growth.
